Good Shoulders Made Dangerous 2

This is the same intersection from the previous page. The rumble strips are continuous on the right side of the road through the intersection. To turn left (at the white sign), cyclists have to cross the rumble strip, or take the lane for an extended distance on a high speed rural road. Shoulders are transportation lanes. This one is not a smart one.

On down this road, we see another dangerous condition on a shoulder. Failure to adequately maintain this one makes it unusable for a long section. I have been yelled at twice here recently when I legally ride in the lane. Riding as far right as practicable here means in the lane. Shouldn't the land owner be held responsible for this mess? Its worse than it looks in this picture.

Here is another example of failure to maintain a shoulder. They let the dirt build up. Grass grew on top of that and a five foot shoulder became a one foot shoulder. This is a problem along most of FM518 in Pearland.
