5-mile Silverlake Neighborhood Training Loop (2012)
A five mile training loop in the Silverlake neighborhood for those bringing their fitness up to levels that would allow longer rides at higher average speeds. If you are averaging speeds under 15 mph you should take this option - it is an excellent way to get in an hour or more of exercise with no concerns about riding in a pack of other riders or getting dropped in unfamiliar territory. Many PCC members train in this loop during the week. This ride will keep you within around 2 miles of the ride start so that in the event you have a flat or a mechanical problem you could either ride on the flat or walk back to your vehicle. There is also a drug store on the corner of CR90 & FM518 if you need to purchase liquids. Unless you have planned to train with someone you should expect to be riding this loop alone as all other club members will be heading South on longer routes.
14 October 2007 - 72 Miles
